Why Books Of Titans

Reading the Books of Titans

The right book at the right time can change your life. I recently saw this with my best friend. I gave him a book, one book, for his birthday. That book sparked something in him. He had never run for fun in his life. Within a three month time period, he is now going out and running 11+ miles at a time and enjoying it. He let his wife read the book and it sparked something in her too. My best friend now gives this book out to his friends.

We’ve all read books like this. Ones that change the course of our lives. We may not have realized it at the time, but some of those books notched us one degree different or 180 degrees different. We can look back on those books and see how that led to other books, a different path, and new insights.

I’m always looking out for new books. I love prodding my friends to see what books they are reading. I love clicking on those links that tell you what famous people are reading.

Then I picked up Tim Ferriss’ book Tools of Titans and it’s stock full of book recommendations from the people he interviewed for his podcast. This was a treasure trove of book suggestions! I complied all of these recommended and most-gifted books and have chosen 52 of them to read during 2017. I’m excited about the journey. I’m on the 4th book and I’m already thoroughly enjoying it.

My first goal with this project is to have a lot of fun. My second goal is to connect with other readers. That’s why I’ve created this website. This is a fun project for me and one I hope that generates feedback and conversation. I hope to inspire other people to read these books. I hope you’ll join along.

Great idea, I’m in the process of reading Tools of Titans and I’m really enjoying it.

I don’t however have the capacity to read 52 books in a year but I’ll look forward to reading your blog and see how you are getting on with it.
