Building a Story Brand
Reason Book was Chosen:
I was discussing the book Start With Why with a friend named JP Tanner. He asked if I had also read Building a Story Brand, and I said that I hadn't. He thought that since I liked Start With Why, I'd also enjoy this one. I think it will be one that will help me both with the communication of my business as well as in helping my clients clarify their business. So, i cheated and manually moved this book up to the top of my list so I'd read it at the beginning of the year.My Thoughts
Are you floundering in your business? Having trouble communicating what exactly it is that you do? If so, this book is for you.
You know a book is good when you want to immediately go back through the book and apply what you’ve learned to your own company. This book was stock full of practical advice and immediately implementable information. I’ve studied marketing for years and it can get overwhelming. This book provided a simple and effective framework for communicating clearly.
Not only that, author Donald Miller provides a website link where you can create company brandscripts based upon the information in the book. This makes it even easier to implement the ideas and create the marketing copy to begin using for your company.
I suggest pairing this book with Start With Why by Simon Sinek. Those two books together can create some magic.
And here is some cool interaction with Cal Fussman on Twitter about the topic and book:

I’ve read Donald Miller’s book. It’s a great way for people to look at telling stories.
