Reason Book was Chosen: Career of Evil is the 3rd book in the Cormoran Strike series by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Katie (my wife) recommended The Cuckoo's Calling (the first book in the series) which I read in 2017 and I’ve since also read the follow up The Silkworm. I really enjoyed the first two novels and as such I want to continue with the series and see how Strike and Robin’s characters develop and see what macabre villains Rowling can create.
My Thoughts

Wonderful work again by Rowling aka Galbraith. I’m really enjoying how Strike and Robin’s relationship is developing – it’s has its ups and downs but you can really tell how much they care for each other and I look forward to how that continues in future novels in the series.

The crime in this novel compared to the previous too is a little more close to home for Strike and it’s very disturbing, I enjoyed the chapters written where the villain was the protagonist – very disturbing and disgusting character but interesting none the less without giving anything away.  I liked the twists and turns in the plot.

I’m really enjoying this crime series, I’ve got Lethal White then next book in the series further down my 2019 Reading List and hopefully it’ll be a while until J.K. Rowling kills off Robert Galbraith.
