Reason Book was Chosen:
In late September 2020, I decided to read one book by each of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates. I will then cover each candidate on an upcoming podcast episode before the election. My focus will be on their biographies and their major policy positions.

My Thoughts

This book was written in 2016 before Trump won the election and became president. In the book, he lays out his major policy stances in chapters broken up by issue. Most chapters describe the bad situation for a given policy issue, some ideas on how to fix it, and a standard line of getting the best people in the world together into a room to come up with solutions. Trump relates what needs to be done to his experience as a real estate developer. In that role, he took dilapidated buildings, cast a vision for what could be, and organized a team to get the project done, or to make the building great again. He is basically taking that same mindset and applying it to the country.
