My Thoughts

This is a brilliant book,  so may emotions run through this novel which is so well written.  I really feel sad for all the characters in the novel but I’m inspired by the relationship between the two fathers.

Although I have (white) South African friends and I’ve been to South Africa twice in my early twenties I never really knew any of the history of the country.

Reading this has lead me down a path to truly understand more about how the country came about, the introduction of the Afrikaans and British and the affect they both had on the country as a whole.  I very much want to learn more.
