Reason Book was Chosen:
I try to include at least one book that deals somewhat with Tennessee history. This year, it's David Crockett. This was suggested by Joel Tomlin, owner of Landmark Booksellers in Franklin, TN.

My Thoughts

The folklore about David Crockett is so varied that it’s hard to know fact from fiction, the man from the myth. This book delves into the good, the bad, and the ugly – the frontiersman, congressman, and lieutenant colonel. It was fascinating the story of how one man’s life wove through so many major parts of US History – the Creek Wars, the War of 1812, western expansion, and the Alamo.
