I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It’s a collection of drawings of Egyptian Art, some of which has been lost/damaged since these drawings. I couldn’t believe how beautiful and detailed this artwork was from 2, 3, and 4,000 years ago. It was also incredible to see the consistency of styles, colors, dimensions over 3,000 years of history. Think of how much art has changed in the last 200 years and compare that to a relatively consistent set of artwork from Egypt for 3,000 years. This was a pleasure to look through and something I plan to review every now and then. Highly recommended. It helps to have read “The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt” immediately before viewing this artwork to place the pieces in proper historical context.
