Reason Book was Chosen: Another book sent to me by my bookcrossing friend Adrienne which is also in the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. As mentioned prior I'm trying to read as many books that I've received from bookcrossers over the years as possible (especially the ones from Adrienne and Shnedwards) and this is a continuation of that. I'm also trying to read as many of the 1001 books as possible, I'm using both the 2006 and 2008 editions so there's actually 1283 books to read, I've read 178 of them so far so I'm a long way off.
My Thoughts

My first thoughts after reading it where why wasn’t it called Esmeralda of Notre-Dame after all she is the main character not Quasimodo. That said I really enjoyed it.

Obviously I was aware of it due it being on most people’s lists of important literature and of course due to Disney’s adaptation (although I can’t remember seeing it).

The descriptions of the masonry and architecture in the first half of the novel really engaged me and I loved the way Hugo developed the story with the would be love “Quadrangle?”.
