Reason Book was Chosen:
I’ve heard such incredible things about this series. If the 5th book is released during 2021, I will add it to the list.

My Thoughts

Incredible. This book follows LBJ from 1941 – 1948 when his path to power is mainly going in the opposite direction from what he’d like. The majority of the book covers the 1948 senate race between LBJ and Coke Stevenson. It’s an election that LBJ stole, blatantly, and got away with it. He was all in. If he didn’t win this senate race, it was likely the end of his career in politics. If he hadn’t won the race (by a mere 87 votes), he most certainly would not have been President later in life. Incredible book that read like an action thriller. I had my heart racing at points and experienced tremendous anger at LBJ (continually writing “EVIL” in the margins). Now onto books 3 and 4 in the series. Can’t wait.
