My Thoughts

I used to travel for work and oftentimes on my first night in a new city, my colleagues would take me to the highest spot so I could get the lay of the land. Mythology by Edith Hamilton is that for Greek literature. I’m very glad I read it before digging into The Iliad, Odyssey, and other Greek works. Edith Hamilton compiles the myths from a variety of sources to present the major gods, titans, giants, lesser gods, and others into a relatively short book. I anticipate this book sitting on my bookstand as I read through Greek literature. It will be my reference point – a quick go-to when I need a quick refresher. I highly recommend this book as a good starting point for a launch into the Greeks and the myths, gods, and ideas that informed their stories.
