I wanted to read a book about Norway this year and couldn’t find a good overall history one (if you know of one, please let me know of a good one in the comment section below). So, I decided to do Norse Mythology instead. I read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman last year and really enjoyed it. That book is one of Tim Ferriss’ favorites.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a collection of stories of Norse Mythology retold by Neil Gaiman. It’s amazing how a lot of these myths are similar to other stories we’re familiar with, especially from the Bible. For example, the god (Odin) asks for wisdom above all else (like Solomon). Each story has twists and turns that keep it very interesting. Some even take the form of riddles that keep you thinking. I could see this being a very enjoyable book to read to children while adults get their own joy from it.
