My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book. I had no prior knowledge about Henrietta Lacks and the breakthrough her cells made in the science / medical community prior to reading this! It’s truly a remarkable story, both from a science and a human rights point of view.

I particularly like the chapters with Deborah and other members of the Lacks family, such a plethora of emotions and understandably so. It makes me want to read more about the abhorrent use of black people in medical studies however morbid that may be.
