This will be a multi-part study. First, I will read The Figaro Trilogy, consisting of The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro, and The Guilty Mother. Then, I will read the libretto from The Marriage of Figaro opera. Finally, I will go through the score of the opera while listening to the full recording. I've been fascinated with this opera since 2004, have listened to it hundreds of times, but have never known the story. I want to see how Mozart used music to pull out the full emotion of this story. I can't wait for this part of my reading list.My Thoughts
It’s like a whole new world opening up. It was such a joy to learn the story, read the libretto, and then go through the musical score of my favorite opera.
