Reason Book was Chosen: I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman's work. I started reading the Sandman series in 2017 with Preludes and Nocturnes this is the next in the series (number 10 in the collection). I'm determined to finish the series before the year is out.
My Thoughts

The Wake is the tenth and final part of The Sandman series.  As you can imagine by the title it starts with the Wake and Funeral for Morpheus who died at the end of the Kindly Ones and continues with his (Dreams) resurrection. This is a particular interesting theme as Gaiman writes to explain the continuation of Dreams life and his (im)mortality.  The subsequent chapters appear to serve as epilogues to tie up any lose ends but are also very imaginative and appealing.  I think it is fitting that the series ends with a story of Dream and Shakespeare!

There have been a few follow one companion graphic novels published since the end of the series which I will look to finishing before the end of the year.
