My Thoughts

This is the story of a traveling news reader in Texas in the 1870s. Captain Kidd would collect newspapers, charge $0.10 a person, and read interesting news stories to audiences. It was interesting to think about the way people would have gotten news just 150 years ago and to compare that with our current over saturation. Within this story, Captain Kidd is also tasked with returning a 10-year-old girl who had been kidnapped by Kiowa Indians to her relatives. It was an interesting story that reminded me at times of Blood Meridian, The Power and the Glory, and the movie Young Guns II.
