Tao Te Ching
Reason Book was Chosen:
This was one of 5 books suggested for me on Instagram (I requested book suggestions to include in this year's reading list). This is also one of the most suggested books from Tim Ferriss podcast guests, so I'm intrigued. My Thoughts
This is a book of wisdom literature written in 4th Century BC China. It’s a relatively quick read, but one that should be chewed on for a while. In fact, this is a good book to go through one chapter at a time (a chapter only consists of a few lines) and meditate or think on the statements. It’s rich and the simplicity of the content is quite astounding.
I read this book twice, once in February and again in June. The first time, I read a translation by Charles Johnston. I didn’t like it. For the second reading, I read the Stephen Mitchell translation and really enjoyed it. It was smooth and simple.
Do yourself a favor and read this one.
