Reason Book was Chosen:
I am the Business Manager at the local bookstore in Franklin, TN called Landmark Booksellers. Andrew Peterson signed copies of this book to sell at Landmark. I got to meet him when he came in to sign the book. I've read his book Adorning the Dark and just saw his Behold the Lamb of God Christmas concert at the Ryman this year. And on top of all that, I saw Andrew perform in 1998 at a Caedmon's Call concert. I have a great level of respect for Andrew, his writing, and his music. My Thoughts
Good Lord, this was an enjoyable book. Probably the most delightful of the year.
Andrew Peterson writes a book of longing and desire amongst landscapes near and far within a time period encompassing Covid. There is poetry, Andrew’s drawings of trees (which are excellent), nostalgia, grief, loss of innocence, hope, purpose, and trees. I connected with Andrew on so many different levels. Through his travels, his reading, and some of his childhood and adult experiences.
This is a beautiful book. I didn’t want it to end.
