This is a reimagining of The Iliad scene where Priam ransoms the body of his dead son Hector from Achilles. This is masterfully retold by David Malouf. It brings to life, in a beautiful way, this incredible story. I highly recommend this for anyone who has read The Iliad. Here was my favorite line:
“I believe that the thing that is needed to cut this knot we are all tied in is something that has never before been done or thought of. Something impossible. Something new.”
