Theogony & Works and Days

My Thoughts
An important text describing the genealogy of the gods. In reading Herodotus, I learned that many of the gods Hesiod writes about here were gods worshipped in other places like Egypt under different names. Learning about the gods here can help in understanding them in other cultures/contexts/great books.
Works and Days has a Solomonic feel of wisdom literature and was quite enjoyable.
I read through the book quickly the first time to get the overall feel (it’s only 61 pages total). Then, I went back to read the introduction and read the full book a secondly time more slowly.
